Just as my morning commute was starting to get easier, THIS is what happened to the bridge!
They are reconstructing the main bridge between my apartment and work, so now the entire intersection has been demolished, save the little footbridge above. The first morning of construction, they set off a TON of fireworks – this is to scare the demons away from their work. (I have to point out that it cracks me up that men will stop and stare at a hole and a digger – no matter where you live!)
Last week was full of activity! Undoubtedly, the highlight to my week was the time I spent at the foster home. These little ones have quite the hold on my heart. They’re starting to recognize me and will come running over when they see me walk in. I’m still learning names, but this little gentleman is Seth. He has the most hilarious, contageous laugh! He has also recently learned to blow kisses.
This is Daniel. He is such a sweet, tender little boy. A family in America is in the process of adopting him. He has spina bifida, so he still has trouble walking. But he’s got such determination. And his personality is unbelievable – he’s a very special kid!
Off the top of my head, I can’t remember the names of these ones. Little by little, I’m learning their stories – each one is a miracle. And it’s really exciting working at a place where you know you get to help care for these children until they get an adoptive family. There’s a lot of love and hope at this place – and you can just see it with how well cared for these children are.

I love the very first picture of Seth. All of the kids are precious…
DANIEL!!! I hope you are having an amazing time at New Day!!! I might have some family visiting you shortly…
Hi Caroline,

I am happy for you and know that this is a wonderful thing to have happened in your life.
May everything you hope for comes true.
