Wangfujing Street is perhaps the most famous shopping district in Beijing. Very similar to Times Square, it practically explodes with color, noise, people, and way too many things to buy. But just a block or two beyond the last store you’ll find a quiet Catholic church with a courtyard out front and a rose garden to the side.
This is where we stopped late Saturday afternoon, taking pictures and eating ice cream. We couldn’t believe how gorgeous the sky looked that day.
